Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST) and Sharif Petroleum Operations Company (SHPOC) signed a memorandum of understanding between the two sides. The vice chancellor, Professor Rashid Ahmad Mohammed Hussein signed for SUST and The director of the company, Mr. AbdulMajid Mansour Abdul Majid signed for SHPOC.
Professor Rashed said that all the university possibilities of human resources and facilities, including labs, incubators and others, are available for the development of the target areas. He added that the relationship with the company will be solid and a model of joint relations so that it can provide community services that contribute to the supremacy of Sudan.
Mr. AbdulMajid Mansour praised the development of the university in the academic fields by entering into the field of medical specialties through establishing the colleges of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, and its clear role in serving the community through many windows and centers. He added that SHPOC works in the oil fields in Kordofan and Darfur among pastoral and agricultural communities so that they work, as a part of their social responsibility, to spread the culture of peace and self-employment, and other projects.
The two sides agreed on establishing sustainable development projects to achieve self-sufficiency, alleviating poverty and improving the standard of living of the members of the community, in addition to raising the efficiency of local human resources in the target areas, spreading awareness and enhancing the importance of community development and its important role in optimizing the human and material resources available in the regions.
